We visited the Provost Dungeon in Charleston SC. This was part of the Ghost and Dungeon Tour given by Bull Dog Tours.
The dungeon was not very big. In it's day though it had been crammed with over 100 prisoners at one time. Disease and death ran amuck. As depicted above women were not immune to being imprisoned.
Part of the old Seawall called the Half Moon Battery.
Amoung those imprisoned at any given time was slaves, prostitutes, even pirates. This prison even held the likes of Edward Teach..a.k.a "Blackbeard"!
Mike and Anita checking the place out. We got numerous orb pics but they can be discounted due to the dampness of the place.
A shot looking toward the entrance. This will give you an idea how it was laid out. The heavy duty construction of the place helped the building survive, floods, war, hurricanes and anything else in between. It really is remarkable.
Anita taking pics. We did not find nothing out of the ordinary evidence wise, but we did have a few personal experiences. My husband had the EMF detector and it went crazy several times during the tour for no apparant reason. Mike saw a fleeting shadow. I was sick to my stomach. I felt very very sick like I was going to throw up. The minute I stepped out of the place all of the feeling disapeared. I would have loved to be turned loose in that place with just my team members and no one else. I am sure we would have not come away disapointed.
