Laurel Hill is the the boyhood home of Patrick County Va's most well known hero" Gen J.E.B Stuart ". Stuart served under Gen Robert E. Lee in The Civil War and was renowned as a world class calvaryman and raider!

In Dec 2004, I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Laurel Hill "Tom Perry". He was kind enough to give me a personal tour of Laurel Hill. He is a very interesting man with a wealth of knowledge to share. You can see his web site at http://www.freestateofpatrick.com/. The website includes lots of history of Patrick County VA and Regional History. Also Tom has a blog about J.E.B Stuart http://www.freestateofpatrick.blogspot.com/. Also you can read about Tom's books about J.E.B and Patrick Co History here http://www.freestateofpatrick.com/book!

Be sure to visit the Laurel Hill Website http://www.jebstuart.org/!
