This is the area where my Mom grew up in Carroll County Va. Lambsburg is a tiny town with just one little store and a post office. They used to have a school but it closed a few years ago and now the kids go to school in a nearby town. This little town has always felt like home to me. The church that is shown is Chestnut Grove Primitive Baptist church. This is where my Mom went to church with her family growing up. They attended the old church which is across the road on the side where the grave yard is. It is a white frame church ...very plain and simple. There is several grave yards in Lambsburg VA with some very old graves (the graveyard where my grandparents is buried has some old graves that is just marked by rocks). I intend on checking all of them out eventually.

There is one graveyard in particular close to this one. My uncle Troy has had an experience there as a teenager. He had his story published in many publications through the years about his run in with his ghost. He was walking by the graveyard and he seen a white form in the graveyard he walked toward it thinking it was some of his buddies playing a prank on him. When he got close to the form it turned toward him. He said where the eyes would have been was like two gaping holes. He picked up a rock and threw it at the form, and it went right through it. He ran to the neighbor’s house and ended up spending the night with them because he was scared to walk home. Many years went by and he and his wife and son went to the same graveyard to see if the spirit was still hanging around. They parked the car and my uncle got out and hollered “if any one is there show your self”. He got back in the car. Minutes later they heard foot steps coming toward the car and they got closer and closer. Troy turned on the car head lights when the steps get toward the front of the car and there is nothing there. Troy's whole family witnessed and heard the footsteps and would swear to this day that there is something in that graveyard. I would love to check this one out personally.

My mom's youngest brother Eligah lives down below the graveyard where my uncle Troy saw the apparition. It is actually just a stones throw from the place. I was at his place 2-26-05 about 10 pm. I was walking around his yard with my voice recorder. It was a clear night, mild for Feb. I was using my GE voice recorder. I was asking random questions....and no other female was there only me. My husband was sitting in the truck. See what you think the EVP says after I ask "DO YOU LIKE LIVING WITH LIGEE"? Our family calls Eligah “Ligee" as a term or endearment.
